Xi'an city wall is one of the largest well-preserved ancient military defensive systems in the world. It was originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), later to be expanded and fortified in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Xi'an city wall is one of the largest well-preserved ancient military defensive systems in the world. It was originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), later to be expanded and fortified in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The 12-metre high wall, which is just under 14km in length, is one of the oldest in China. There are four city gates of the wall located in the east, west, north and south of the city and each gate has a structure of Archery Tower, Drawbridge Tower and the Main Tower for the final entrance of the city.
Cost: 40 RMB (£4) entrance fee at the South Gate, 200 RMB refundable deposit for the bikes, and 20 RMB per 100 minutes.
There a few people were on the wall, So you will have a great view of the Xi'an city.
